Providing women the opportunity to heal.

Transitional housing and support services for victims of domestic abuse.

Sweet Dreams Foundation was founded in 2020 to provide transitional housing and support services for women and children who have fled their homes due to domestic violence, coercive control or any other circumstance of abuse.

While domestic violence often involves physical and mental abuse, it can also involve coercive control, which is insidious and harder to see. Coercive control is the gradual undermining of a woman’s sense of self-worth, along with her freedom and independence. It may include seemingly harmless acts of keeping a woman from her family or friends leading to social isolation or to more sinister actions such as monitoring her activities, verbal abuse, bullying, and threats to the safety of her children, extended family and even pets.

Our goal is to empower these courageous women to become self-sufficient by restoring their spirit, giving them autonomy over their lives, for example, from opening a bank account, to assisting in the process of accessing higher education. We aim to deliver a range of programs that will promote positive, independent life skills, as well as safe accommodation whilst transitioning from crisis short-stay accommodation. We will assist these women out from the darkness and into the light they so richly deserve.

Our homes will provide a healing sanctuary. We are proud to say that our first home (we hope that there will be many more) has been lovingly restored into a premium and modern home, that provides peace and comfort in a time of distress and need. The Foundation is called Sweet Dreams because we truly wish to provide our guests with a restful experience that will indeed provide them with the security that will allow them to dream, and to dream sweetly.
